Colombia is a South American country with a diversity of regions and beautiful landscapes. This diversity is also observed in its people, both in ethnic and sexual diversity.
Three years ago, we formed the Kinship group which was organized with a small group in Bogotá; today we already have two more groups in the city of Medellin and Cartagena, with a total of almost 50 members distributed throughout the territory.
In 2018, we managed to work on diverse fronts of support to our diverse population by carrying out several activities in the three cities, including the Adventist population, former Adventists, and friends, as well as their families.
In the month of August 2018, we managed to make two meetings of Fathers and Mothers with Diverse Children in the city of Carmen de Apicalá, bringing together a total of 20 members, between parents and children, under the motto, “The family the best place to grow.”
Healthy-life programs have been developed, such as ecological walks and vegetarian cooking courses, enhancing a healthy style for our friends and members.
Within the ecology programs, 100 trees were planted in the city of Bogotá; and workshops on diversity, art, and economic entrepreneurship were given to our members in the different cities.
We finished the year 2018 delivering a total of 300 gifts to children of limited resources in the city of Bogotá and provision of books for a school in the province of Santander.
On December 5, we were recognized with the San Sebastian Award for the best organization that promotes spirituality in LGBTIQ people.
We closed this year with the firm conviction of God's help in this journey and the future that will come in 2019.
